Total hospital employment still stands at more than 4.83 million jobs. The overall change in hospital employment from December 2012 to January 2013 was 3.6 percent.
The entire healthcare sector added 22,800 jobs in January. Ambulatory healthcare services, including physician offices and outpatient centers, added 27,600 jobs alone, while nursing facilities saw a 3.2 percent drop in employment.
