3 recent healthcare layoffs

The following hospital layoffs were reported by Becker’s Hospital Review in September:

1. Fairmont (W. Va.) Regional Medical Center laid off 25 employees Sept. 18 amid a decline in patients.

2. Cheverly-based University of Maryland Capital Region Health cut 83 jobs, or about 3 percent of its 2,600-person workforce, in October.

3. Cerner will lay off 255 employees as part of the EHR vendor’s cost-cutting efforts.
