Spaulding rehabilitation hospital to shut down

Spaulding Rehabilitation Network, part of Boston-based Partners HealthCare System, plans to close Spaulding Hospital for Continuing Medical Care North Shore, a rehabilitation hospital in Salem, Mass., due to financial troubles, according to The Boston Globe.

David Storto, president of Partners Continuing Care, said in the report that about 300 positions will be cut by the closing. However, he indicated that some of the workers might find jobs at other Spaulding facilities.

According to the report, Spaulding Hospital for Continuing Medical Care North Shore, which includes long-term acute and skilled nursing care, is slated to close by the end of September 2015.
