10 things to know about St. Luke's University Health Network

Bethlehem, Pa.-based St. Luke's University Health Network is a nonprofit, regional, integrated network.

Here are 10 things to know.

1. The network includes 10 hospitals and 315-plus sites of care in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

2. The network was established when a small hospital was built in Bethlehem in 1872.

3. Today, the network sees 65,000-plus admissions and 250,000-plus emergency room visits annually.

4. It includes 14,000 employees and a clinical staff of 1,400 physicians and providers.

5. For four consecutive years, the network's flagship hospital has been named a Truven 100 Top Hospital in the major teaching hospitals category.

6. St. Luke's University Health Network was the first network in Lehigh Valley, Pa., to earn HIMSS Analytics' Stage 7 EHR Adoption Model designation.

7. The network is also a Blue Distinction Center for cardiac care and maternity care.

8. The American Hospital Association named the network among the "most wired" healthcare organizations in the country in 2017.

9. Richard A. Anderson serves as president and CEO of St. Luke's University Health Network while Joel Fagerstrom serves as COO and Chad Brisendine is CIO.

10. The health network is actively involved in community health activities. It established The Bethlehem Partnership for a Healthy Community in 1996 and offers free services and screenings for community-run events.
