The community group Pediatricians Associated to Care for Kids opposes construction of a children’s hospital that is part of an existing community health system. A $150 million gift contributed to the project by philanthropists Bill and Alice Goodwin will only be available if the construction of the children’s hospital is completely independent, the group pointed out.
Additional meetings have been scheduled for August to discuss the project, which will not be open until 2019 if it moves forward.
