OCMMC hopes to improve rates of diagnosis for early-stage lung cancer, when the disease is most treatable. Currently, only 16 percent of lung cancer cases are diagnosed at early stages. Approximately half of cases are diagnosed after the cancer has already metastasized, according to a news release.

OCMMC’s new center includes a 64-slice CT scanner and a minimally invasive endobronchial ultrasound, as well as a multi-disciplinary team of specialists, surgeons and therapists for customizable patient care.
