Houston Methodist Creates Digestive Disorders Center

Houston Methodist Hospital has announced plans for a center devoted exclusively to treating disorders of the digestive system, according to a report from the Cypress Creek Mirror.

The center will feature integrated care from various specialties including gastroenterology, radiology, gastrointestinal surgery and molecular pathology to provide patients with access to both high-quality current care and experimental interdisciplinary therapies, according to the report.

The center was endowed by David M. and Lydia Underwood. Mr. Underwood is Houston Methodist's longest serving board member and is the vice chairman of the board of directors, chairman of the finance committee and chairman of the foundation board of directors at Methodist.
