The center is part of an effort to cater to nonemergency patients who might otherwise seek treatment in an emergency room. The facility offers treatments for burns, fractures, sprains, lacerations and minor illnesses, and it also dispenses medication, vaccines and gives intravenous fluids.

Holy Cross will continue to identify other areas for urgent care center openings, according to the report.
