Les Wexner has stepped down as chair of the Wexner Medical Center Board at Ohio State University in Columbus, according to an Aug. 20 resolution ratifying board committee appointments for fiscal 2027.
Mr. Wexner will remain on the board as chair emeritus. Robert Schottenstein was named the new chair of the Wexner Medical Center Board, with Kara Trott as vice chair.
“New board chairs always refresh the committee structure and appointments,” a university spokesperson said in an Aug. 24 statement shared with Becker’s. “As part of that process, Les Wexner has stepped back from his role as chair of the Wexner Medical Center Board. … Les and Abigail have been great supporters of the university for many years, and we appreciate his ongoing service on the committee.”
Mr. Wexner was appointed to the board in November 2013, according to the university’s website. He is the founder and former chairman and CEO of L Brands, which split into two independent companies in August 2021: Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret.
The medical center itself is named in recognition of his philanthropic support.
