VUMC chief nursing officer to retire

After 17 years, Marilyn Dubree, MSN, RN, is retiring from her role as executive chief nursing officer of Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The Nashville, Tenn.-based system announced Ms. Dubree’s retirement Sept. 14, noting she will remain in her position while a search for her successor is underway.

Ms. Dubree earned her MSN from Vanderbilt University and has stayed connected to the institution since. She is the former CNO of Vanderbilt Hospitals and Clinics and was named CNO of VUMC in 2007. Under Ms. Dubree’s leadership, Vanderbilt was one of the first hospitals in the country to create a shared governance process for nurses.
