Daisy Rodriguez, MSN, RN, has been named CEO and chief nursing officer of Waukegan, Ill.-based Vista Health System, according to an Aug. 5 news release shared with Becker’s.
Ms. Rodriguez succeeds Kim Needham as CEO. A Vista Health spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s that Teresa St. Luce, MS, RN, previously served as CNO.
Ms. Rodriguez brings more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience across community, academic, faith-based and safety-net organizations, according to the release. The CEO transition was announced to Vista Health employees by Kevin Spiegel, former Vista Health CEO and now senior vice president of American Healthcare Systems.
“Her experience as both an executive leader and registered nurse uniquely positions her to lead Vista Health System into its next chapter,” Mr. Spiegel said in the release.
Ms. Rodriguez said in the release that her immediate priority is listening to employees, physicians, patients and community partners.
“A community hospital is defined by the people it serves,” Ms. Rodriguez said. “My first responsibility is to listen — to our employees, our physicians, our patients, and our community — because understanding where we are today is essential to determining where we need to go tomorrow.”
Vista Health System operates Vista Medical Center East, Vista Ambulatory Care Center, Vista Imaging Center and Vista MRI Institute in the Waukegan area.
