Virginia’s Riverside Health Names William B. Downey as President

William B. Downey has been named president of Riverside Health System in Newport News, Va., according to a Daily Press report.

Mr. Downey’s position as president is effective March 1, when current president Richard J. Pearce will retire. Mr. Pearce will stay on as CEO until the end of the year, when Mr. Downey will also assume that title.

Mr. Downey has been Riverside’s executive vice president since 2001 and COO since 2003.
