Vidant Medical Center CEO Steve Lawler to retire in 2016

Steve Lawler, president of Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C., plans to retire in two years, according to a Greenville Daily Reflector report.

Mr. Lawler has held various leadership roles with the Vidant Health system for more than 20 years, a tenure he described as “a wonderful journey both professional and personally,” according to the report. He’s served as president of the medical center since 2007.

Vidant Health President and CEO David Herman is working with Mr. Lawler and the hospital’s leadership team to ensure a smooth transition.

“Steve is a great asset to our team,” Mr. Herman said in the report. “I have no doubt we will continue to benefit from Steve’s experience and expertise during the coming months.”
