Richmond, Va.-based VCU Medical Center has named Rick McClenny, BSN, RN, associate vice president of quality and safety.
Mr. McClenny began the newly created role May 24, according to a May 26 system news release. He will work with clinical, academic and operational leaders to oversee quality, safety and performance improvement strategies across VCU Medical Center clinics and services.
The position also will support care delivery innovation efforts involving digital health, predictive analytics and AI-driven quality tools, the health system said.
Mr. McClenny most recently served as market director of clinical risk management for Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Health, where he oversaw four hospitals in Sentara’s Eastern Market. He previously served as chief nursing officer for Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Petersburg, Va., and as chief quality officer for Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Va.
