UVA Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Charlottesville, Va., has named Dale Alward as CEO.
Mr. Alward will oversee all operations at the 60-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, a joint venture between Charlottesville-based UVA Health and Birmingham, Ala.-based Encompass Health, according to an April 23 news release shared with Becker’s.
He brings more than 40 years of healthcare experience to the role. He most recently served as executive vice president and COO of AVEM Health Partners.
Mr. Alward has also served as CEO for multiple hospitals within national health systems and spent more than 23 years in the Air Force Medical Service as a healthcare administrator.
Encompass Health operates 174 hospitals across 39 states and Puerto Rico.
