Mary Marshman, DNP, RN, will join VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Va., as chief nursing officer on July 20.
Dr. Marshman has spent more than a decade in nursing leadership positions at several health systems. She currently serves as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at UofL Health’s Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky. She has also worked in leadership roles at Grady Health System and WellStar Health System, both based in Atlanta.
At VCU Health, Dr. Marshman will lead nursing strategy and operations at the system’s flagship hospital, a Level 1 trauma center and academic medical facility. She will also work closely with the CNOs of the health system’s other hospitals — VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital and VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital — to advance nursing practice and align clinical, research and education initiatives across the system.
