Ms. Barone had been with St. Luke for 30 years and announced her resignation following the merger of St. Luke with St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Ky.
Ms. Barone was sued by St. Elizabeth in June for underreporting Medicare refund liability related to the St. Luke’s vascular clinic, and the hospital asked for her severance package of more than $700,000 to be rescinded, according to the report. A ruling has yet to be made.
