Lexington, Ky.-based UK HealthCare has named Stephen Hobbs, MD, assistant chief medical information officer for imaging informatics.
In the role, Dr. Hobbs will work with clinical information technology and operational leaders to advance imaging informatics across the health system, according to an Aug. 6 LinkedIn post. His responsibilities include supporting imaging technology strategy, optimizing clinical workflows, advancing AI initiatives and enhancing enterprise imaging systems, image exchange and imaging utilization.
Dr. Hobbs is also a professor of radiology and medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington. He currently serves as executive vice chair for radiology and chief of cardiovascular and thoracic radiology.
He previously served as vice chair for radiology informatics and integrated clinical operations and as the inaugural imaging informatics medical director for the UK HealthCare enterprise. The health system said he has led imaging AI projects spanning dozens of countries and helped oversee improvements to its imaging IT systems, image exchange programs and imaging appropriateness and utilization.
