UC San Diego Health Sciences names Christopher Longhurst CIO

Christopher Longhurst, MD, has been appointed CIO of UC San Diego Health Sciences, reports Healthcare Informatics.

Dr. Longhurst most recently served as CMIO of Stanford (Calif.) Children’s Health. He also is on the editorial board of Healthcare Informatics.

He is taking over duties for Ed Babakanian, who will retire after serving as CIO of UC San Diego Health Sciences for 20 years.
