UC San Diego Health names Dr. Christopher Longhurst CIO

UC San Diego Health has appointed Christopher Longhurst, MD, as the system’s new CIO.

Dr. Longhurst joins UC San Diego Health from Stanford (Calif.) Children’s Health, where he served as CMIO since 2004. He also was a clinical professor of pediatrics and biomedical informatics and a program director of the clinical informatics fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine.

In addition to overseeing UC San Diego Health’s IT department, Dr. Longhurst plans to see patients part-time. He is board-certified in pediatrics.
