Here are the new appointments, as outlined in an Aug. 15 news release from the health system.
1. Steve Stites, MD, was named executive vice chancellor for KU Medical Center. Dr. Stites will continue to serve as the health system’s chief medical officer and executive vice president for clinical affairs.
2. Matthias Salathe, MD, was appointed chief research officer for the university and medical center. Dr. Salathe was also named chief research officer for the health system.
3. Talal Kahn, MD, was tapped as senior associate dean for clinical affairs for the KU School of Medicine. He will continue to serve as president of the University of Kansas Physicians and the health system’s vice president of physician affairs.
4. Sean Kumer, MD, PhD, was named senior vice president and chief medical officer for the Kansas City division of the health system.
