Tennova Healthcare appoints Tony Benton Knoxville Metro CEO: 5 things to know

Knoxville, Tenn.-based Tennova Healthcare tapped Tony Benton to serve as CEO of its Knoxville Metro region, effective April 10, according to a Knoxville News-Sentinel report.

Here are five things to know:

1. In his new role, Mr. Benton will serve as CEO of Physicians Regional Medical Center, as well as oversee the Knoxville market, which includes North Knoxville Medical Center and Turkey Creek Medical Center, all based in Knoxville.

2. He most recently served as vice president and COO of Washington County operations at Johnson City, Tenn.-based Mountain States Health Alliance.

3. He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

4. Mr. Benton holds an MBA degree from University of Kentucky in Lexington.

5. Tennova Healthcare includes 16 hospitals across Tennessee. Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems is its parent.
