Mark O’Neil Jr. will become market CEO of Hilton Head Regional Healthcare, which includes Hilton Head Hospital, Coastal Carolina Hospital and associated outpatient centers, effective Nov. 30.
William J. Masterton will join Coastal Carolina Hospital on Dec. 1 as its CEO and will report directly to Mr. O’Neil.
Mr. O’Neil most recently served as COO of Catholic Health East in Newtown Square, Pa. In this capacity, he coordinated operations for more than 100 healthcare facilities in 11 states with an annual operating budget of $4.6 billion. He has served in other executive positions with Catholic Health East, including executive vice president of the Mid-Atlantic division and president of Mercy Health system of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Mr. Masterton, who joined Tenet in 2003, has more than 16 years of healthcare experience. He currently serves as the COO at Atlanta Medical Center, a 460-bed teaching hospital in Atlanta. He also served as the hospital’s CFO. He has worked in a number of hospital financial roles including market CFO for Iasis Healthcare’s Florida market, CFO of Palms of Pasadena Hospital, Town & Country Hospital and Memorial Hospital of Tampa.
