St. Mary Medical Center promotes CMO to president: 4 takeaways

St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa., tapped Lawrence Brilliant, MD, to serve as president, effective Nov. 19.

Here are four takeaways:

1. Dr. Brilliant is the hospital's vice president and CMO.

2. He joined St. Mary Medical Center in 2015 as medical director of emergency services.

3. An emergency medicine physician, he previously served in management roles at Doylestown (Pa.) Hospital.

4. Dr. Brilliant succeeds James L. Woodward, who will take on the president and CEO role at the newly formed Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, five-hospital system that includes St. Mary Medical Center.
