St. Luke’s Health System Fires North Canyon Medical Center CEO

Editor’s note: Charges will not be filed against former CEO of North Canyon Medical Center Earl Fitzpatrick following a prosecutor’s conclusion there was not sufficient evidence to prove criminal intent involving a misplaced check from St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center.St. Luke’s Health System has fired Earl Fitzpatrick, CEO of North Canyon Medical Center in Gooding, Idaho, who was put on leave on Aug. 18, according to a Times-News Magic Valley report.

The hospital’s CFO, Rod Larson, was also fired by North Canyon officials. The hospital would not disclose the reasons for termination of either executive, according to the report.

Devan Johnson, St. Luke’s director of regional services, has taken over as North Canyon’s interim CEO. Tim Powers has taken over as interim CFO.

The hospital is currently searching for a permanent replacement for both executives.
