Saline Health System names chief nursing officer

Saline Health System has appointed Josh Orzel, BSN, RN, chief nursing officer, the Benton, Ark.-based health system said in a July 9 news release shared with Becker’s. Mr. Orzel had served in the role on an interim basis since March.

Mr. Orzel brings more than 16 years of healthcare leadership experience to the role. Previous Positions include CNO at Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based Select Specialty Hospital and assistant CNO at Havasu Regional Medical Center in Havasu City, Ariz. 

Mr. Orzel said he will focus on ensuring Saline’s nursing workforce stays supported and resourced. “My job is to make sure that every patient who walks through our doors is met by a caregiver who feels supported, present and prepared — not stretched thin,” Mr. Orzel said. “When our nurses have what they need, patients and families feel the difference in the room.”

Saline Health System is an affiliate of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health. Lifepoint CEO Char Boulch, RN, credited Mr. Orzel’s accessibility and relationship-building during his interim tenure. “During his time as the interim CNO, he has earned the confidence of our team through his accessibility and his commitment to doing what’s right for patients,” Ms. Boulch said.

Saline Health includes Saline Memorial Hospital, a 177-bed acute care facility serving Saline County in Arkansas, and a network of primary care and specialty clinics.
