Mr. Erixon previously served as interim CEO of Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, Minn. He has a master’s degree in health administration from Duke University in Durham, N.C.
The hospital has launched a national search for a permanent CEO.
The reason for Mr. Smolik’s resignation was not reported in the hospital’s news release.
