Statesboro-based East Georgia Regional Medical Center named C. Alan Scott, MD, chief medical officer.
Dr. Scott, who stepped into the role Jan. 11, will oversee the hospital’s clinical strategy, ensure patient safety and quality care, and liaise between the administration and medical staff, according to a Jan. 28 hospital news release.
Previously, Dr. Scott served as director of medical affairs at the hospital.
Outside of his medical responsibilities, Dr. Scott has also been featured in several episodes of the docudrama television series “Untold Stories of the E.R.”
