Providence South Division promotes leader to chief medical officer

Providence’s South Division — which spans 17 hospitals in Northern and Southern California — has promoted Ranjit Hundal, MD, to the role of chief medical officer.

Dr. Hundal previously served as interim chief executive of Providence’s St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, Calif., and Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna, Calif. He was also chief medical officer of the two hospitals. 

Dr. Hundal’s promotion was announced July 9 in a LinkedIn post by Russell Podgorski, executive director of executive recruiting at Renton, Wash.-based Providence.
