Kristy Carrington, BSN, RN, was appointed chief executive of Providence’s North Division, effective Aug. 24, according to an Aug. 5 health system news release shared with Becker’s.
Ms. Carrington succeeds Kevin Brooks, who transitions to chief executive of Providence Clinical Shared Services, according to the release. She has served as chief executive for Providence Swedish in North Puget Sound since August 2022, overseeing Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, Swedish Edmonds and the Swedish Mill Creek Ambulatory Care Center.
Ms. Carrington joined Providence in 2015 as director of acute care at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, later serving as chief nursing officer and in regional and divisional chief nursing roles. Before joining Providence, she served as director of nursing at Keck Medical Center of USC in Los Angeles.
Providence’s North Division comprises Providence Swedish, the largest healthcare delivery system in Western Washington with eight hospitals and 244 clinics, and Providence Alaska. Ms. Carrington’s appointment is part of Renton, Wash.-based Providence, a nonprofit health system with 119,000 caregivers serving 51 hospitals and 1,002 clinics across Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
