Providence names Bon Secours Mercy Health executive chief mission officer

Stephen Taluja was appointed chief mission officer of Renton, Wash.-based Providence, effective June 29.

Mr. Taluja joins Providence from Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health, where he currently serves as chief sponsorship and formation officer, according to an April 10 health system news release. He previously served in other roles at Bon Secours Mercy Health, including chief ministry formation officer, according to his LinkedIn profile.

In his new role, Mr. Taluja will oversee mission and formation, spiritual health and ethics, and serve as a liaison to the Providence St. Joseph Health Sponsors Council.

Providence is a 51-hospital, faith-based system with more than 1,000 clinics and health and social services across Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
