Phoenix Children’s has named Joshua Koch, MD, as senior vice president and hospital based in chief, a new role at the pediatric health system.
Dr. Koch will oversee critical care, neonatology and fetal care, emergency departments and urgent cares, hospital medicine, radiology and pathology, according to an Aug. 5 news release. The system operates four hospital campuses and four pediatric specialty and urgent care centers across Arizona.
Dr. Koch previously served as co-director of the Center for Heart Care and division chief of cardiac critical care medicine and pediatric critical care medicine. He also chaired the Phoenix Children’s Medical Group Governance Council and served as vice president of the medical staff.
Phoenix Children’s President and CEO John Nickens IV said the new role reflects how the system is “investing in the future of Phoenix Children’s by strengthening physician leadership and ensuring our teams have the support they need to deliver the highest level of care.”
