1. Ms. Sabin served in the role for nearly a decade.
2. Her decision to resign “has to do with my love of population health management. I want to try to do something while I still have runway in my career that is more dedicated to that goal,” she told The Gazette.
3. Ms. Sabin took over Penrose-St. Francis Health Services when it was struggling financially.
4. During her tenure, she focused on bringing financial and operational stability to the organization. Last year, Penrose-St. Francis launched a $102 million expansion of St. Francis Medical Center in Colorado Springs, which will be completed next year.
5. She also spearheaded the acquisition of an 80-acre plot of land in Colorado Springs, where a replacement hospital for Colorado Springs-based Penrose Hospital will be built.
6. Ms. Sabin’s experience prior to Penrose-St. Francis includes serving as CEO of Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health and leading Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colo.
