University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine Names Executive Vice President and Dean

The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Health System in Philadelphia has named J. Larry Jameson, MD, PhD, as the health system and medical school’s next executive vice president and dean, according to a university news release.

Dr. Jameson comes to Penn from Northwestern University in Chicago, where he has served since 2007 as vice president for medical affairs and the Lewis Landsberg Dean of the Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Jameson will succeed Arthur Rubenstein, who has served as Penn’s executive vice president and dean since 2001. He will begin work at the university on July 1, 2011.
