Jodi Coombs, BSN, RN, has been appointed interim president and CEO of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
Ms. Coombs brings more than 30 years of pediatric healthcare experience to the role, according to a hospital statement shared with Becker’s on April 21. She most recently served as COO of Mercy Children’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. During her tenure, the 390-bed hospital saw a $748 million increase in operating revenue and a $577 million improvement in net revenue, according to the statement.
She succeeds Robert Brooks, who was named interim CEO in February following the resignation of Donald Mueller. Mr. Brooks will support the leadership transition before leaving the organization, a hospital spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s.
St. Christopher’s primarily serves Medicaid beneficiaries. The hospital filed for bankruptcy in 2019 and later was bought out by a partnership between Philadelphia-based Drexel University and West Reading, Pa.-based Tower Health.
