Mr. Harlan previously was the president and chief administrative officer for John Muir Medical Center-Concord Campus. He is credited with the financial turnaround of that hospital, according to the report. More recently, he was the principal at Harlan Healthcare Consulting.
Mr. Harlan is replacing interim CEO Rick Reid on Sept. 4.
