Jill Owens, MD, will step down as president of Olean, N.Y.-based Upper Allegheny Health System to return to private medical practice, The Bradford Era reports. 

Cleveland Clinic appointed Lisa Yerian, MD, chief clinical and operational improvement officer and vice president.

Mike Erickson, president of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, was named the future leader of three Michigan hospitals that St. Louis-based Ascension currently operates.

Jay deVenny was appointed CEO of Medical City Dallas.

Andrea Burch, BSN, RN, was named president of Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colo., part of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health.

Wausau, Wis.-based Aspirus Health has named David Bittner senior vice president of enterprise development, according to an April 11 LinkedIn post from the health system. 

Hospitals and health systems are making changes in their leadership ranks based on organizational needs in today's healthcare environment. Some of the changes have involved adding inaugural roles to their C-suites. 

VillageMD — majority owned by Walgreens Boots Alliance — has selected Jim Murray as president and COO, effective April 1.

PeaceHealth has named Kim Ruscher, MD, chief medical officer of its Oregon network, the Vancouver, Wash.-based system announced April 9. 

Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health appointed Craig Miller as its first system-level service line president.
