Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare has named Sister M. Mikela Meidl, BSN, as president of the health system.
The leadership transition will occur over several months as current president Michelle Conger prepares to become CEO following the upcoming retirement of Bob Sehring in April, according to a Jan. 19 health system news release.
Ms. Meidl serves as executive vice president and chief ministry officer, overseeing legal and mission services. She joined OSF HealthCare in 2014 through its merger with Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton, Ill., where she had served as CEO and president.
OSF HealthCare operates 18 inpatient facilities, including 16 licensed hospitals, with 2,141 licensed beds across Illinois and Michigan.
