McAlester (Okla.) Regional Health Center has named Julie Powell, MSN, RN, its CEO — the first woman to serve in the role.
Ms. Powell has served as interim CEO since July 2024 and previously held several leadership roles at the hospital, including chief nursing officer, director of surgery, director of education and director of quality and infection control, according to a March 5 hospital news release.
She first joined the hospital in 1994 as director of education and clinical risk management, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Ms. Powell brings more than two decades of healthcare leadership experience. The hospital’s board said her leadership has supported clinical quality initiatives, employee engagement and organizational growth.
