Brian Whitfield has resigned as CEO of McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Okla.
The hospital’s board of trustees accepted the resignation Oct. 30, according to a Facebook post from the hospital.
CFO Kena Allen, who has been with the hospital for more than three decades, was named interim CEO. She has served as CFO since 2022, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The board thanked Mr. Whitfield for his leadership, serving as CEO since 2022. He stepped into the role “at a time of extreme turbulence for the hospital, and not only steadied the ship, but against the odds, also managed to lead the hospital to financial stability in an extremely challenging time for rural hospitals,” the post said.
McCurtain Memorial is a 25-bed critical access hospital.
