Ohio hospital taps chief nurse as CEO

Columbus-based OhioHealth has appointed Paula Stabler, MSN, RN, as CEO of Van Wert (Ohio) Hospital.

Ms. Stabler has served as the 34-bed hospital’s chief nursing officer and senior director of patient care services since 2022. In this role, she has overseen various strategic partnerships, culture transformation efforts and major facility enhancements, including a $3 million pharmacy expansion.

Prior to her CNO role, Ms. Stabler was the emergency department director for Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind. She also previously served as director of the emergency department and emergency medical services for Van Wert Health, according to a Feb. 17 news release.

Van Wert Hospital became part of OhioHealth in December 2022, when its parent, Van Wert Health, joined the system through a membership agreement.
