Ochsner Health hospital names CEO

Kim Ellender has been appointed CEO of Ochsner Health’s St. Bernard Parish Hospital in Chalmette, La.

Ms. Ellender has more than 20 years of healthcare experience and joined Ochsner Health in 2011, according to an Oct. 14 health system news release. She most recently served as assistant vice president of hospital operations at St. Bernard Parish Hospital, where she oversaw clinical growth and service expansion.

She succeeds Lani Fast, who had served as CEO since 2022 and recently became COO of Ochsner Children’s.

St. Bernard Parish Hospital is owned by the Hospital Service District of the Parish of St. Bernard, State of Louisiana, and managed by New Orleans-based Ochsner Health, which operates 47 hospitals and more than 370 care centers.
