Novant taps chief physician for patient experience

Novant Health’s office of patient experience has selected Roxie Cannon Wells, MD, as chief physician executive officer, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based system said April 4.

In her new role, Dr. Wells will help steer the system’s patient experience strategy, supporting both employed and independent clinicians. 

She has more than 25 years of healthcare experience, most recently serving as senior vice president and chief physician executive and strategy office for Novant’s coastal region. Dr. Wells is also a past chair of the North Carolina Healthcare Association and has served on the board of trustees for the American Hospital Association, according to an April 4 news release.
