New York system taps supply chain officer

Michael O’Malley has been appointed senior vice president and supply chain officer of Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health, effective Dec. 2.

Mr. O’Malley will oversee the system’s supply chain operations, including logistics and distribution, according to a Dec. 2 news release.

With more than 20 years of experience in supply chain management, Mr. O’Malley was previously appointed by Virginia’s governor to serve as the state’s inaugural chief procurement officer. In that role, he managed a spend of $11 billion, purchasing services for hospitals and other healthcare facilities throughout the state.

Catholic Health operates six hospitals, three nursing homes and a home health service.
