Sean Lally, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Bayside, N.Y.-based St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, has been appointed president and CEO.
Mr. Lally will succeed Edwin Simpser, MD, who is retiring at the end of June, according to a May 7 health system news release.
During his nearly decade-long tenure at St. Mary’s, Mr. Lally has overseen operations management and led strategic planning initiatives.
Dr. Simpser has been with the system for more than 25 years. He became CEO in 2014 after joining the organization as chief medical officer in 1999.
The health system operates St. Mary’s Hospital for Children and provides intensive rehabilitation, specialized care and education to children and young adults.
