Lee McCall will step down as CEO of Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, Miss., to become administrator of University of Mississippi Medical Center’s community hospitals, he told Becker’s Aug. 21.
Mr. McCall will oversee the Jackson-based system’s hospitals in Madison, Lexington, Grenada and Greenwood, Miss.
He said he expects to leave sometime in mid- to late October, though a date has not been set. He said he is working with the board on the transition and that the board is determining its process for naming his successor.
“It’s just been a wonderful opportunity,” Mr. McCall said of his tenure. “We’ve got a wonderful board, wonderful community, just amazing team, great leadership team.”
Mr. McCall has served as CEO of Neshoba General since April 2014, according to his LinkedIn page. He previously was CEO of Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Miss., and CEO of Jefferson Davis Community Hospital. He is a past chairman of the Mississippi Hospital Association board of governors.
Neshoba General converted from a prospective payment system facility to a critical access hospital in January under Mr. McCall. The county-owned hospital also operates a nursing home and clinics in Neshoba County.
