Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, Neb., named Gabriel Behling its new CEO.
Mr. Behling had served as the hospital’s COO since 2024 and brings 20 years of leadership experience across the healthcare and energy sectors, according to a June 9 hospital news release.
He previously spent seven years at Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health before transitioning into the energy sector. He later joined North Platte, Neb.-based Great Plains Health before joining Box Butte General Hospital.
Mr. Behling succeeds interim CEO Brian Shelmadine, MD, who stepped into the leadership role in June 2025 during a transition period.
Box Butte General Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital.
