Wadena, Minn.-based Astera Health named Mike Schramm interim CEO, effective July 6.
Mr. Schramm brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience in rural healthcare organizations across Minnesota, according to a July 1 health system news release. He most recently served as president of CentraCare–Willmar (Minn.) before retiring in early 2025.
As interim CEO, Mr. Schramm will work with Astera Health’s leadership team and board of directors to oversee operations while the organization searches for a permanent CEO.
CFO Kim Aagard was named interim CEO in April, succeeding retiring CEO Joel Beiswenger. Mr. Beiswenger led the system since 1998, first serving as CFO and then as CEO beginning in 2008.
Astera Health operates a hospital and medical clinic in Wadena.
