Minnesota system hires successor for retiring CEO

As its current president and CEO prepares to retire, Northfield (Minn.) Hospital + Clinics has appointed a new leader from MaineHealth.

Steve Underdahl is retiring after 11 years at Northfield Hospital + Clinics, according to a Nov. 7 news release.

Zander Abbott will take over as president and CEO on Jan. 20. He most recently served as vice president of service line operations at Portland-based MaineHealth, where he oversaw women’s health and children’s health service lines, as well as Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

Northfield Hospitals + Clinics is an independent health system.
