Rick Ash will retire as CEO of Blue Earth, Minn.-based United Hospital District after nearly 11 years in the role and more than 35 years in rural healthcare leadership.
During his tenure, Mr. Ash worked with the organization’s board, leadership team and medical staff to expand healthcare services and access to care across the region, according to a Feb. 20 hospital district news release.
United Hospital District also transitioned from two legacy systems to a unified EHR through Epic during his leadership. The organization added technologies such as robotic-assisted surgery and expanded specialty care services.
United Hospital District comprises a 25-bed acute care hospital, outpatient services, ambulance service and a home health and hospice care program, supported by a 25-provider multispecialty group with three clinic locations across two counties.
